The Luminante Concept: the candle that becomes a plant

At Luminante, we wanted to go beyond simply making handmade scented candles. Our unique concept is based on a simple but innovative idea: a candle that, once burnt, transforms into a plant.

The project was born out of a shared passion for nature, craftsmanship and eco-responsibility, values that have driven us since the beginning.

We wanted to create a product that not only illuminates and perfumes your home, but lives on beyond its primary function.

This gesture, which is both symbolic and concrete, allows everyone to play their part in preserving the environment while integrating nature into their daily lives.

How does the Luminante concept work?

The magic of Luminante doesn’t stop when the candle flame goes out. Here are the detailed steps for transforming your candle into a plant:

1.Enjoy your candle

Light your Luminante candle as you would any other candle. Our candles are made from 100% natural soya wax, a vegetable wax that guarantees clean combustion and no toxic fumes. Each candle is scented with fragrances from Grasse, the world capital of perfume. The wooden wicks add a touch of nature and crackle gently, creating a relaxing atmosphere.

2.The candle burns out

As the hours pass, the candle burns slowly, releasing its delicate scents whilst illuminating your home. Unlike traditional candles, our containers have been chosen for their durability and reusability.

3.Prepare the container for processing

Once the candle is completely burnt out, the container becomes the focus of your next step. Gently clean the wax residue with hot water to obtain a clean container ready to be used as a pot.

4.Add potting soil and seeds

Each Luminante candle comes with a planting kit: a surprise seed sachet and a 100% coconut fibre dehydrated cube. These seeds vary depending on the collection and the season, but they are generally from aromatic plants, vegetables or flowers. Follow the planting instructions on the seed sachet.

5. Spray and let nature take its course

Spray your seeds regularly using a spray bottle and place the container in a well-lit spot, but away from direct, intense light. By taking care to keep the pot moist with regular spraying and checking the moisture levels of the compost, your seeds will begin to germinate within a few days or weeks, depending on the variety.

6.Enjoy your new plant

You now have a new plant in your home, a tangible reminder of your commitment to nature and a living memory of your Luminante candle. By choosing Luminante, you extend the experience beyond a simple moment of relaxation to make it a sustainable and eco-responsible gesture. Once the first shoots appear, repot in a larger pot to help the plant grow.
